“Made in Australia” – What does this mean?
All Elizabeth de Varga Couture Bridal gowns are made entirely in Australia. Our studio is located on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Queensland. All components of our gowns are made in our studio. This includes the pattern making, individually hand cutting each gown, machining and the hand sewing.
Do I need to make an appointment?
Our studio is by appointment only. To make an appointment please fill out the ‘Booking Request Form’ or call (07) 3394 4904
What should I bring to my appointment?
Bring pictures of dresses that you like and names of gowns that you have seen on our website, that way we can assist you in finding similar styles. It’s also a good idea to have an open mind, don’t be surprised if you find “the one” and it is nothing like the design you originally considered.
Can I take photographs?
We do not allow cameras in the fitting rooms while you are trying on our gowns. Once you have purchased a dress, you can take as many pictures as you’d like.
How far in advance do I need to order my gown?
It’s best to allow 6 -12 months before your wedding to order a gown; this is to ensure we have enough time to source the required fabric in the colour you desire.
My wedding is within 6 months. Can I order a gown?
Yes! But every second counts. We will need to consult with Head Office to see if it is possible to order the fabric and make the gown in the required time frame. Alternatively we do sell samples off the rack; this means you may only need to have alterations on an existing gown, therefore the process is much quicker.
What gowns can I try on?
We have a large selection of sample gowns that you are welcome to try on; we have an extensive range of styles and sizes from our most recent and past collections. If there is a specific gown that you wish to try on please contact us and well will let you know if it is available. View our Complete Collection.
Can I get a fabric swatch of my gown?
Once you have ordered your gown we will send all relevant details to you; including a fabric swatch and information regarding your fittings.
Can I get additional fabric?
Yes. Elizabeth de Varga Exclusive Fashions have no problem supplying additional fabric to compliment your gown as long as we have the required fabric available. It is advisable to consider this and place your order at first fitting. Please contact us to check price and availability. (Head Office) 07 5494 8020
What is bespoke design?
Most of the gowns we sell are bespoke. A special-order gown is made specifically for you, by us. You choose the design or we can design an individual gown for you based on the measurements we take at your appointment, we then fit it to you so it is made perfectly for your body and is one of a kind.
What is a “Toile”?
A toile is a version of a garment made by a fashion designer or dressmaker to test a pattern. When you order a bespoke gown we take measurements and make a toile specifically for you; this is what you try on at your first fitting.
What are your opening hours?
Our new Brisbane studio is by appointment only, therefore times and days may vary. Please contact us to book an appointment.
We do not have a flat alterations fee. Alterations are only charged for the specific alterations needed for your gown. All made to measure gowns will have the alteration costs inclusive to the price of the gown. However, off the rack gowns will be charged for alterations. These prices will be quoted to you on request at an arranged time. Please call the store to make a suitable time. We only alter Elizabeth de Varga Exclusive Fashions gowns.
